In our custom ROM, PixelBuilds (https://t.co/KfIsRFwGOY), we have promptly merged a revert to this issue into our latest February release. I truly cannot wrap my head around how something like this is distributed in the Android source code to this date. 😵‍���

So here's a new discovery...

Whilst browsing around the depths of Android with my fellow dev @exactxmpl, we stumble upon something odd. At first we couldn't really figure out what was going on with "SettingsDumpService".

All we knew was that this was getting crazy. [1/8]

However, based on the observation, maximum time of dangling could be perfectly equal to global system uptime. This still remains left out everywhere all the way up to latest AOSP tags and beta releases, although some vendors stock ROMs seem to have sorted it out. [7/8]
