Hey so marching into a predominantly Jewish neighborhood and leading with a chant saying “we support Hamas” is a disgusting and antisemitic thing to do.
Pretty basic!
When @dfriedman33 discovered a Goodreads page tied to the email of a top Pentagon official featuring books on “Asian wife sharing," he did what any reporter would do: ask the Pentagon questions.
The next day, a threatening email from Jack Posobiec arrived. https://t.co/5deXtQZBpB
What’s so annoying is save for like 10 minutes around 2014, it was clear this would be the case. The whole time some conservatives were complaining about cancel culture, jawboning, etc., a lot of them were simultaneously salivating at the chance to wield illiberal power themselves and take it even further
Elected judges are approximately 15% more likely to sentence a defendant to death during an election year than during a non-election year - just some food for thought.
a weird take i've kind of been tumbling over the gravel in my head is that, to an extent, progressivism has made the world less diverse and less interesting. it feels like we used to celebrate other cultures and civilizations more, but this got labelled as exoticism and now-
it's quite interesting how food and rent have basically switched places as income % from 1900 to now
Percent of income Americans spend on food:
1900: 40%
1930: 30%
1960: 18%
1990: 9%
2020: 6.5%
Overall though, percent of income on essentials (clothing, housing, and food) has dropped significantly:
1900: 75%
2020: 45%
The stock market is down 1.37%, not up 10%, since Trump took office. The price of gas is up 2.6%, not down 20%. Consumer confidence is lower than it was at any point in 2023 or 2024.
Just baffling that a U.S. senator goes on Twitter to tell obvious, easily checkable lies.
