Until today, he has been held in prison, and not been told why.

⭕UPDATE: After waiting for over 2 yrs for his trial, and with the initial February date already postponed, M. Elfallah appeared in court yesterday, only to learn that the prosecution had presented his case to the wrong court—as if they hadn’t had enough time to figure this out!

M. Elfallah, a 16-year-old boy, faces 4.670 years in prison for being on a boat with his father, fleeing Libya and wanting to reach the EU. He was charged with "facilitation of unauthorized entry of 467 third-country nationals into Greek territory".

We will remain by his side and hope that the trial will finally take place in January 2025—50 months after his arrival—so he can at last move forward with his life. Two years is a long time for anyone, but for a teenager, it feels like an eternity.
