#Graphite keeps coming up in conversations around critical minerals, batteries, energy storage, data centres and defence, and I realised it’s a commodity I wanted to understand better from an investment perspective.

So I reached out to @1stCDNGraphite CEO @lagourgue1 and asked him to walk me through the graphite story.

One thing that caught my attention: John says China currently controls roughly 80–90% of global graphite processing, while graphite can account for up to 30% of an EV battery.

That raises an interesting investment question:

If North America is serious about building secure domestic supply chains, will graphite eventually get the same investor attention we’ve seen for #lithium, #uranium, and other #criticalminerals?

We also discussed First Canadian Graphite’s Quebec project, its recent discovery, high grades and upcoming exploration and drilling plans.
