After some re Wilding earlier this week we obviously made the ideal habitat for common darters to come and lay their eggs - 5 minuites after the work was completed ! #rewilding#ecology
After being surveyed in 2020 (In good condition) this mature Sycamore has been in steady decline. It has been monitored , watered and mulched over the last few years due to the extended periods of drought, however, unfortunately now standing dead needed to be removed as a priority
With the current weather conditions we would like to remind you all to be aware of 'Summer branch drop.' This is a natural occurance of trees shedding large limbs when there has been an extended period of draught followed by significant rainfall. Stay safe everyone.

Always great to get handling time with the animals (animal welfare paramount) - This time it was with our native adder 'Vipera berus' in preparation for a large project. Amazing creatures but sadly in decline due to habitat loss, like so many others. #Adder#reptiles#ecology
Great to have the opportunity to try some new techniques in creating habitat in trees for bats , willow tits and other arboreal species. We will be carrying out surveys (and deploying cameras) over the next few seasons so π€we have some occupants. #wildlife#bats#Arboriculture
Great day learning about water voles , their habitat and the challenges they are facing. Didnt expect to be helping get a stranded horse out of the canal ... glad we managed to get her back on land safely !!! #Ecology#wildlife
Another project completed this week on behalf of @WKWT - Felling / Coppicing to make way for 2 new wildlife ponds. Looking forward to seeing the end result #trees#Arboriculture#wildlife
Amazing to be able to survey this old building for bats ! So much potential - Pip sp. , Plecotus Auritus (BLE) and Large bat droppings all present in the loft space. Unfortunately no Emergences this side during the survey. #Ecology#bats#wildlife
