Last Saturday, we hosted Build with Hermes Agent at @2586labs, bringing together builders exploring workflows, context, and self-learning agents.
We also had a session with @sidbing from @NousResearch, who shared insights into the latest agent research.

A dev got so frustrated watching his AI agent write 500 lines for a 5-line problem that he built a fix.
He called it Ponytail. Named after the guy every team has - long ponytail, oval glasses, been there longer than the version control. You show him fifty lines; he looks at them, says nothing, and replaces them with one.
Now your agent does the same. Before writing anything, it looks for a reason not to.
80-94% less code. 47-77% cheaper. 3-6x faster.
The best code is the code you never wrote.

Banganapalli was always the mango we got in bulk. Big yellow boxes of it. My grandmother in Hyderabad would slice them cold, straight from the fridge. No ceremony. Just fruit on a summer afternoon โ๏ธ
I didn't know then that most of the world had never heard of Banganapalli. Or Kesar. Or Himayat ๐ฅญ
When I started travelling across Asia and through the west, I kept finding mangoes I couldn't name. Tree-ripened Irwin from Miyazaki. Ataulfo in a Mexican market. Each one carrying its own season, its own name in three languages, its own story about where summer happens.
I've always loved a good atlas. The kind that makes the world feel bigger and more specific at the same time.
So when @arjunphlox and I started talking about building something together, this was the one. A small, playful atlas for mangoes. Where they come from, what they taste like, what people call them at home.
Mangoes Around the World is live today at https://t.co/sxUf66Rt0C. If you know a variety we've missed, send it our way! Enjoy โบ๏ธ
I wrote this thread before ChatGPT launched, but it is even more relevant in the AI age.
Particularly, CEOsโ push for โmore AIโ is leading to a new kind of Optics work within companies: creating the perception of using AI, tokenmaxxing, etc. without much regard to UX or impact.

My hot take is design will matter more than ever before in technology
Production will become trivial, this is priced in. However, design is how things work and encoding a point of view.
When anyone can build, judgment, taste, and decision making matter more, not less.
