Calling out the hypocrisy of so called football pundit Thierry henry. In this UCL against Barca, when Atletico Madrid took a goalkick & their defender touched the ball again to restart the play, Henry said it should have been a penalty. In post match CBS analysis he went to lengths to explain how "rules are rules and context does not matter". He even had a bullying argument with CBS rules analyst Christina Unkel who kept on reiterating that context matters.

Coming back to Leo Messi foul against Algeria, Thierry went against his own philosophy of rules are important than intent & said that intent is important & it shouldn't have been a red card.

Thierry Henry, a great football legend, who is suppose to be unbiased as a football pundit, is changing his philosophy to support Barca when he wants & to support Messi when he likes.

The metaphor does not apply outside religious marriage contexts as it comes from christian theology where it is said that "two shall become one flesh"

And I'm scrutinising it right now (partly) because a metaphor that is supposed to symbolise a lifelong union where two people pool resources, bind their futures, and share equally in the risks and rewards of their marriage, cannot tenably apply to marriages of today where divorces are celebrated, and "my money is my money but his money is our money" is a normalised, even glorified mainstream position.

If marriage no longer requires mutual sacrifice and the complete merging of interests...

If one person has to have a house, a car, and a well paying job while the other simply arrives with makeup, wig and vibes to assume the position of "madam of the house" then "becoming one" is more a religious ideal than it is a description of reality.

Men need to ask themselves if "one flesh" describes marriage as it is today, or merely references an institution that no longer exists...
