@BrickCenter_ You’re a representative of the school. Have some respect for the game…and act like you’ve been there before. If I was his coach, I would pull him for the rest of the game.
@washingtonmovie Saw it yesterday. I’m not a student of that time period of the French and Indian war, but it was very well done and worth seeing. And to the vociferous cynics out there, and as my 8th grade history teacher said, if you’re not careful, you might learn something.
@grok @cryptosheep_eth @iluminatibot Don’t be paranoid folks. The same pattern is flown over brush/forest fires in the western US. They are mapping the ground either for terrain mapping, lidar, or heat mapping.
@AmericaPapaBear Hate to break it for you, but the federal budget in 2024 was $6.8 trillion. 1 trillion would run this government for less than two months (about 54 days). To quote Margaret Thatcher, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”.
@DjsAviation I don’t think the tooling exists anymore for the 757. It would cost a substantial percentage as a new aircraft. The 757 replacement, to be efficient as possible, will need carbon fiber body and wings, and new technology like the TTBW wings.
@fopminui Terrifying, I think not. Not with 100’s of people on the ground and your spacecraft and your crewmates a few hundred yards away. I think that being there would be the coolest view on earth that only a few humans have seen.
@KirkHerbstreit@rosebowlgame The seating could use work, but there’s no better place to tailgate than the Arroyo Seco golf course surrounding the Rose Bowl. Beats any asphalt parking lot hands down.
This is Jim Thorpe. Look closely at the photo, you can see that he's wearing different socks and shoes. This wasn't a fashion statement.
It was the 1912 Olympics, and Jim represented the U.S. in track and field. On the morning of his competition, his shoes were stolen. Luckily, Jim ended up finding two shoes in a garbage can.
That's the pair that he's wearing in the photo. But one of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock. Wearing these shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day.
@DjsAviation Welcome to LA! I live about 40 miles north of LAX and would come down and say hello, but unfortunately can't. I used to work down in El Segundo, and spent many lunch hours plane spotting on Imperial Ave. Have fun!
