Let me talk for a minute about a difficult time I had about 15 years ago, when I realized I had to stop identifying myself with D&D. I suspect many of you are, in some way, feeling some of the same things.
@Alphastream@Trekiros@LouAnders An odd analysis because it takes many years of top products and compares them to a single year of a branch of a subsidiary company. But it still makes a good point. Multiple years of top KS make a tiny fraction of a single year of part of a company. WOTC is already over 1B in rev
@ChrisRNegelein@AnneofManyNames I agree with you that 5e is codified but that is one reason I like it. I like the creativity needed to use the constraints and the ways I can bend the rules.
I dont dislike other systems, they just feel much less rewarding to brew for. I can already do most things I would brew…
.@Wizards_DnD has sent out meeting invites and NDAs to creators. Signing it will silence you in the fight for an open and accessible One D&D. Don't do it
If they want to do damage control about One D&D's license, it must be made publicly. All of us are affected by this.

@NoTrumpJewel@Tita_Mae23 So have I, but I am also willing to pay the tiny amount required to help others and also want the predatory loan rates to stop. We spend more on predatory loans than if we just funded free college with taxes.
That 1m loan for a BOAT could have put dozens of people through school.
@vorpaldicepress @alyssavisscher Oh I like that a lot. I love items that reward obscure, underused, or supportive actions. That is an excellent usecase for optional attunement as well since its not really abusable when its a hot-potato and can offer more than initially given.
@alyssavisscher I would like to say that while I think attunement IS useful I ALSO condone handing out items like candy, and am doing my best to add items to D&D to allow for more than three magic items whenever I see an opportunity. Including items that add attunement slots!
@vorpaldicepress @alyssavisscher I have only used optional attunement twice out of like 350 items. So basically never.
I do it for when an item has a unique mechanical effect without attunement but can ALSO do more when attuned. Which is a rare attribute in my brain space apparently.
@vorpaldicepress @alyssavisscher If I make an item I decide if its atrunement based on if the mechanic is per rest or not and if it gives some passive ability like “extra movement speed while attuned”. Passives are also often attunement, depending.
@vorpaldicepress @alyssavisscher The attunement number is a power limit, the attunement time is to prevent swapping. Items that have limits per rests are basically always attunement, and this rule of thumb applies regardless of power level. Even low level items require attunement when its rest-based.
@incandescaent God of the lost. Cant have anyone finding these gods I am sealing off. If I wait too long to deal with her other gods or people might undo my work.
@randomspirits 6’2” with a 34” inseam. I got a used Steelcase Leap v2 from a warehouse for like $300 and its the best chair I have ever had. Nice height, good support, has pretty good armrest adjustability too.
@vorpaldicepress @daylightpub1066 @laura_hirsb Shepharding can be used in non-animal situations even. It just means “carefully manage”. I will admit though, that while formally it is not limited to sheep it will usually be assumed to be sheep.
I am incredibly proud to announce that I have conceived and co-led the first book written entirely by PoCs in @Wizards_DnD’s 49-year history: Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel!
16 Black and brown writers made this amazing book!

@lysapenrose If you dont like the cord on the Intous you can get a dongle for it, but I dont mind the cord. Even though I got the dongle I usually dont use it.
@lysapenrose No screen? Wacom. Screen? Huion.
I got my Wacom Intuous 8 years ago and its still going.
If you need portability you might have to suck up the extra dough for an iPad but if you plan on drawing at your computer the other pads are just much much cheaper options.
@LegalEagle So truly: you bought a receipt that maybe gives you access to a token that maybe is associated with a good that can probably be reproduced by anybody.
@LegalEagle You are buying a receipt that claims you own a combination of characters that is sometimes accompanied by a good, usually digital.
Depending on the NFT though, you may only hope to have a claim on ownership within a specific scope, as NFT networks arent monolithic.
