📉 A sharp turn on the battlefield. Russia is starting to lose ground
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukraine liberated more territory in May than Russia managed to capture.
Russian forces occupied or pushed into roughly 40 square kilometers, but lost control of nearly 280 square kilometers.
Moreover, some of Russia’s reported “advances” were merely temporary infiltrations by small assault groups that failed to hold the territory they entered.
The cost of every kilometer is also soaring. While last autumn Russia was losing about 67 soldiers per square kilometer gained, by May that figure had climbed to nearly 200.
Meanwhile, Putin continues to claim that Russian forces are advancing every day.
He just doesn’t specify in which direction.
Russia slaughtered over 25,000 predominantly Russian speakers in just Mariupol while levelling Russian speaking cities all across the East of Ukraine.
Evidently you can't make this shit up, "saving the Russian speakers" but clearly Lavrov can.
Washington Changes Its Tune: Billions More for Ukraine
For the first time since Donald Trump returned to office, Congress has made significant progress on a new Ukraine aid package.
The House voted 218–204 to advance the bill, which includes $8 billion in military loans for Kyiv, an extension of military assistance through 2027, and new sanctions on Russia. Notably, several Republicans have played a key role in pushing the legislation forward.
The final vote is expected later today.

Terrifying video of Russian glide bomb striking right next to a typical café in Kramatorsk yesterday. No military purpose, pure terrorism.
Please watch this video and listen to the sound. This is the daily life of ordinary Ukrainian civilians in towns and cities, not only in Kramatorsk, but in dozens of places, from small villages to big cities.
Russia must be stopped, and Ukraine needs all possible help to get it done.
🤡 Russia’s State Duma has given Elon Musk a choice: either cut off Starlink for Ukraine — or Russia will “leave no trace of anyone”
State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin claimed Elon Musk’s satellites are allegedly being used by Ukraine “to kill children” and said the billionaire “must understand this.”
“All this could lead to us using weapons that will leave no trace of anyone,” Volodin threatened.
So, translated from Duma-speak into normal language: shut down Starlink or Russia is apparently ready to destroy the entire world 🤣
What else should Musk do? Maybe personally apologize to the State Duma too?
🤡 Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed it struck “military targets” in Ukraine
Meanwhile, the following sites in Kyiv were damaged:
— Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry building (for the first time since World War II),
— the Chornobyl Museum,
— the Podil Opera and Ballet Theater,
— the Kyiv School of Economics,
— the Institute of Religious Sciences,
— the tax service headquarters,
— a market, residential buildings, and other civilian infrastructure.
Moscow called all of this “retaliation for Ukraine’s terrorist attacks.”
😳 A Finnish woman visited Karelia — territory the Soviet Union once seized from Finland — and was shocked by the poverty and decay
That’s basically the essence of the Kremlin’s Soviet mindset: invade a successful country, sacrifice hundreds of thousands of lives, seize territory — and turn it into a depressing dump.

“No president has done more to help Ukraine survive the Russian invasion than Trump”
J.D. Vance appears to be living in some alternate reality where Trump already ended the war in Ukraine in 24 hours.
"We will not defend Taiwan, and we are halting arms shipments to the island, since they themselves are attempting to instigate a war against China"—Trump's words from a recent interview can be interpreted in precisely this way.
The Ukraine scenario is repeating itself. In the event of a Chinese attack, Trump will likely go a step further and ask: "Taiwan, why did you start a war when you held absolutely no cards?"

😍 The Latvian passport under ultraviolet light looks like a true work of art
A couple of years ago, 🇱🇻 introduced a new passport design — and this particular feature quickly became one of the most talked-about details.
Under UV light, intricate and stunning Latvian landscapes appear on the pages.
Good luck to counterfeit that!
King Charles reminds Trump and MAGA that NATO invoked Article 5 for the first time after 9/11, when all alliance members came to the aid of the United States.
“Today, Mr. Speaker, that same unyielding resolve is needed for the defense of Ukraine and her most courageous people,” the king said, receiving a standing ovation🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇦
