A rare gathering of giants. ❤️🕊️
SPB, Vijayakanth, Bharathiraja, Vivek & Manivannan were more than artists. They stood with the Tamil people, spoke against the genocide of Eelam Tamils, and used their influence when silence was easier.
For #Eelam Tamils, #Bharathiraja Ayya was more than a legendary filmmaker. He stood with our people, spoke against genocide when many stayed silent, and never wavered in his solidarity. A fearless Tamil voice. Rest in power, Ayya 🐅❤️💛🕯️

@tamilwave_ Colonel Gopith will be remembered as one of the finest battlefield commanders of the Eelam Tamil struggle. He led from the front, inspired unwavering confidence in his fighters, and earned respect through courage, discipline, and sacrifice. 🕯️
@TamilGuardian Worth noting M.K. Stalin tried this approach extensively before Vijay by the way. The issue persists because it requires sustained India-Sri Lanka negotiations beyond individual appeals for theatrics.
@TVKVijayHQ@anuradisanayake We expect you to use this moment to firmly raise Tamil rights and dignity — not just exchange pleasantries. Tamil Nadu voted for change and strong advocacy, not diplomacy that ignores history.
@TVKVijayHQ@anuradisanayake A simple "thank you" without even mentioning our brothers' pain, the arrested Tamil Nadu fishermen, or justice for genocide and war crimes sends the wrong message.
Thinking diplomatic backing of Sri Lanka automatically makes them “anti-Eelam” only shows a shallow understanding of international politics. Some push these narratives for Western funding, others out of sheer political illiteracy.
Eelam Tamil activists and organisations parroting Western foreign policy and blindly taking anti-China or anti-Russia positions are politically clueless and damaging the struggle. Russia & China were never the enemies of us. States act on geopolitical interests, not emotions.
S. Vithiya was failed long before she was murdered. A militarised homeland, police negligence, impunity and decades of violence against Eelam Tamils are why many see her case as part of a structural genocide. We remember.

Bitter truth: while our people remain under occupation and continue struggling politically, too many are distracted worshipping celebrities and projecting saviour fantasies onto them instead of building serious political consciousness and power for ourselves.
If only Eelam Tamils invested even half the energy, emotion, and attention they pour into Tamil Nadu politics and actors who don’t genuinely care about them into Lankan politics and confronting the parties responsible for their condition… maybe things would look different today.
Instead, people act like Vijay is somehow going to magically rewrite India’s foreign policy and liberate Tamils from oppression. That fantasy alone shows how politically clueless and disconnected some of you all have become.
Wishing my fellow Tamils the best for the #TamilNadu elections. May your voices be heard loud and clear, and may the outcome reflect the true will of the people. Hope everything goes peacefully and fairly. Stay safe, take care and make sure to vote!
@Whisperer2024@ThevanKaruppan 2) Supporting creators and critically engaging with their work can go together. If we don’t question portrayals, then inaccurate or one-sided narratives just keep getting repeated.
@Whisperer2024@ThevanKaruppan 1) I don't think he's expecting perfection. I think he's saying that when a film deals with our history, especially something as sensitive as Tamileelam, the way it frames events matters.
Trump is pushing this narrative of ‘negotiations’ with Iran to set the stage for a ground invasion, even though Iran has clearly denied any talks are happening. That way, he can claim diplomacy failed and use it to justify sending in troops.
I offer my prayers for Balochistan, a land that has faced decades of dispossession, militarisation, and silenced suffering.
History shows us that when a people are denied dignity, justice, and self determination, the wounds do not fade, they deepen.
