Congratulations to @KerryLynneFindl on her victory last night. Our team is united behind you.
I would also like to thank and congratulate the other contestants for their contributions to building a better BC.
Deep gratitude to @TrevHal for his hard work as interim leader, as well as the dedicated members and volunteers of our party who gave it their all during his campaign.
To all British Columbians - you are the reason we fight to restore our province’s values and create a prosperous future for generations to come.
Now, the real work begins, defeat the NDP and get our beautiful province back on track.
Today, I was asked to leave the chamber after calling out the Premier for remarks I believe were false and misleading regarding my record and the record of members of our caucus on LNG development in Northern B.C.
For years, the Premier has attempted to claim that we do not support projects like LNG Canada, while at the same time trying to take credit for a project he actively opposed while in opposition. The people of the North remember who stood alongside our workers, local governments, Indigenous partners, and communities to fight for these opportunities when it mattered most.
I am proud of my record. As a Kitimat city councillor, I worked hard alongside many others to help get Phase 1 of LNG Canada to final investment decision. That project has created jobs, opportunity, and long-term economic benefits for our region and for British Columbia. The credit belongs to the many people who put in the hard work over many years to make it happen.
I will not sit quietly while the history of that work is rewritten for political convenience.
When the people of Skeena elected me, I promised to be a loud, strong, and unapologetic voice for our communities. That means standing up for our workers, our industries, and the truth, even when it is uncomfortable.
I will continue to do exactly that every single day, unapologetically.
I had a great time at Canada Strong and Free Network and a great opportunity to be on a panel with some incredible people yesterday. Talking about the failures of the decriminalization experiment, and where BC needs to go next.

Municipalities shouldn't be forced to step up when the provincial government abandoned them.
Conservative Critic for Mental Health and Addictions @ClaireRattee spoke with @CTVNewsRob today about the NDP's failure to support treatment and recovery in communities across BC.
I wonder when @Dave_Eby will come visit. I sent him a letter about 5 months ago asking him to finally come to Kitimat and tour @lngcanada facilities so that he could see the remarkable project he opposed for so long (but would now like to take credit for) in action and meet the people that made it happen. About a month later I received a response from one of his staff saying that he plans to finally visit our community some time this summer but I’ve yet to hear or see anything that makes me believe that’s true. I don’t know how a Premier that cares about Northern British Columbians could justify spending his entire tenure not visiting the communities that have made such a significant impact on our economy. David Eby doesn’t know anything about living in Northern or rural communities and he certainly doesn’t know anything about living in a community that runs on industry—somehow he has time for a trip to Asia though! He certainly has no problem taking credit for a project that was spearheaded by others and flip flop on his opposition when it was politically expedient. The North won’t continue to be ignored by this Government. #bcpoli
Every member of the Legislative Assembly of BC must stand with NDP MLA Bowin Ma & her Constituency Office Staff.
The idea that someone would set off a device to damage or somehow threaten an MLA’s CA office is deeply concerning.
No one in BC should feel scared to go in to work.
According to the 2023 statistics in Terrace, one in every eighty-four people is homeless. If the same rate applied to the Lower Mainland, it would be as if the entire Township of Langley suddenly lost their homes overnight.
Yesterday, I asked the Premier when he would finally take the homelessness crisis in Terrace seriously. It was the last question of the session. He didn’t even stand up to respond.
Instead, his Housing Minister deflected—blaming “20 years of previous governments.” Maybe he forgot they’ve been in power for eight years.
British Columbians deserve accountability—not excuses.

In 2020, the NDP used $55M of YOUR tax money to buy the 110-room Howard Johnson hotel on Granville to warehouse homeless people with severe mental health & addiction issues.
Not only are they not getting the care they need & deserve, but many have died from overdose & businesses have been impacted by rampant crime & chaos.
David Eby must change course & implement a robust recovery-focused system of care that includes drug-free housing.

The mostly skeletal remains of 26-year-old James Beick-Fowler were found inside North Vancouver's abandoned Maplewood Pub in April – more than a year after his likely overdose death. He had a bottle of "safe supply" Dilaudid that he didn't have a prescription for & a syringe & pipe by his side.
His mom Heather Fowler's words are haunting - “He suffered from mental illness and, subsequently, drug addiction, and received zero help and ended up being homeless and squatting in this building, and he overdosed...,” she said. “His remains had been rotting there since March of 2024 and nobody knew.”
Fowler tried on two occasions to get help for her son under the Mental Health Act, believing he could be a danger to himself or others. Both times, he was released shortly after being brought in.
This is the latest tragic story of 16,000 lives lost to addiction & families torn apart after 8 years of radical NDP bad policy & dangerous ideology.
British Columbians need change NOW!

Today’s events were unfortunate, but my focus remains unchanged: working hard for the people of B.C. alongside my colleagues. Politics can be messy, but our commitment to fighting for this province and delivering real solutions has never wavered. We will continue to stand together as a team, pushing for the change British Columbians deserve.
Kindness is important. The truth is important. What matters most right now is bringing down the NDP for the sake of our province.
Spent the afternoon at #lightupkitimat today, a great afternoon put on every year by our local #ChamberofCommerce. A great turn out despite the cold, rainy weather! Thank you Laurel and team for all the hard work you put in to keep our business community thriving! @ClaireRattee
