BREAKING: Donald Trump is dealt a crushing blow as Judge Juan Merchan quickly rejects his desperate request for a mistrial after Stormy Daniels’ testimony.
Trump is really running out of options now…
“I don’t believe we’re at the point where a mistrial is warranted,” said Merchan.
While he agreed that Daniels perhaps said too much, he blamed the defense for not objecting more during testimony.
“When you say the bell has been rung, the defense has to take some responsibility for that,” he said.
“I agree there are some things that would’ve been better left unsaid,” he added, saying that “witness was a little difficult to control.”
Given the manner in which Trump has smeared Daniels, who can blame her?
Trump’s attorneys had absurdly claimed that “the guardrails for this witness, answering questions from the government, were just thrown to the side.”
According to the AP, “Trump shook his head as Merchan denied the request for a mistrial, then jotted something down on a piece of paper that he shared with his attorney.”
Looks like Trump’s decision to hire the “very best” lawyers isn’t exactly panning out…
