Median income is lower today than it was in 1999, while rent, healthcare, college and regular monthly bills all cost double or more. https://t.co/zALlf4Xp69
It's wild to me that there's been so little NBA media coverage/commentary on Ja Morant coming back to start this new season.
He's 25, was voted Most Improved/All-NBA 2nd Team in his last full season, and appears to have learned how to avoid any further public gunplay incidents.
People pay $400/month for crappy high deductible health insurance but don't want their taxes to go up $100/month to pay for Medicare for All. This is why America can't have nice things.
Just did the calculation and when you add up total cost of premiums (both employee/employer contributions) and the deductible, it costs roughly $20,000 before our insurance company will pay a SINGLE DOLLAR for healthcare that they aren't legally required to cover upfront.
"Covered by health insurance" usually means "you'll have to fight tooth & nail to get them to pay and even then you still actually have to pay because of the $3000 'deductible' in your plan."
Health insurance really is the biggest scam. You pay thousands in premiums and then you get a bill and have to pay thousands out of your own pocket to meet the deductible before insurance will cover anything at all.
Basically, you pay them to make you pay the doctor yourself.
We pay $600/month for the privilege of having health “insurance” that says we gotta pay $5000 out of pocket before they’ll give us a DIME and you can’t figure out why we keep our bodies at home IN A PANDEMIC
Being “straight” is much more about performing a certain type of masculinity/misogyny that gets approval from other “straight” men than about being heterosexually attracted to women (nevermind actually *liking* women)
