every dev types “code” → VS Code
codex just took that spot
simple hack: reuse the habit

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

That might be the biggest reason AI got so popular.
It never says "I don't know"

imho, it has to

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@basilnas_ Nice idea, but I was not able to make it work

Is it just me?

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@grant_mucha @Maplethorpej @tinyadz_ Sad to hear that.

We have quite a strong/reliable publisher, like devhunt, swiperjs, and many more which bring value, and we see success stories

There is also an algo in place that controls the cost of clicks based on engagement and matching between publishers and advertisers.

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@Maplethorpej @tinyadz_ Btw, we now have strong tools in place:
- full control over publishers (turn on/off)
- A/B testing
- visual ad banners (beta, released end of December)

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@Maplethorpej @tinyadz_ Over the summer, we’ve done a lot of work to reduce the cost of low-engagement clicks, or make them cheaper for advertisers.

The numbers you see reflect the total results, incl. previous periods you paid for.

In the latest period, there were also a few highly engaged clicks

Feel my pain

When Cloudflare is down and your project relies on it 100%

Thanks for internet detox btw.

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@thehirenthakkar @johnrush I believe we have resolved this 😊

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@Cliftonboy1 @johnrush Hey
Thanks for reporting!

Indeed, Google blocks login from embedded browsers (like when you open it directly in the X mobile app)

So the only option to use Google login is to open the page in a real browser, like Chrome or Safari

We will work on a better UX for that use case

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@swSalim @SoHafidz @johnrush There are basic ones like background color and border

But there is also extended CSS input, which you can actually use to make almost anything you want with the ad layout

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@swSalim @SoHafidz @johnrush Yeah, it will not annoy users and has quite a high CTR.

Or go ahead with an inlined ad. Put it somewhere where it looks organic, and style it accordingly so it's like a part of the UI

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@swSalim 😍

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@johnrush @appwaifudungeon Absolutely!

[John Rush @johnrush]

Added $5 trial on https://t.co/WjPDCTEGVQ to let everyone test it.

(includes A/B testing)

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

@awpthorp @johnrush Thanks for sharing! it's updated now 😊

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

Are you considering moving to self-hosted to escape these hidden costs?

[Igor Boky 🦜 @BotanMan]

My MongoDB Atlas bill EXPLODED from $67 to $770 in ONE month.

$343 of that? Data transfer costs.

Here's the truth most founders miss about database costs: 🧵

speed anymore. It's about protecting your runway.
Every bloated field you store and every crappy query is literally cash walking out the door.

In the startup world this stuff gets expensive real fast.
