Hoping to inspire others to see the beauty of our native wildflowers and wildlife and thus help protect them.

Heath Speedwell was abundant on the Bodmin Moor today, but without the flowers you wouldn't see the leaves. The sheep graze them so short they're almost invisible.

Veronica officinalis
A not terribly good photo of Slender Trefoil, its flowers tiny compared to Lesser Trefoil nearby. An unusual find for the Bodmin Moor and right next to a clump of Chamomile.

Trifolium micranthum
Sheep Sorrel flowering on the Bodmin Moor today. Now added to the Red List due to a steep decline in its numbers in England.

Rumex acetosella
English Stonecrop is found on walls (Cornish Hedges) all over the Bodmin Moor, while elsewhere it's mostly a coastal cliff loving species. #wildflowerhour
Sedum anglicum
A new species for me today was finding a single tuft of Mat-grass in acres of Molinia grassland on the Bodmin Moor. Perhaps the sheep get most of them.

Nardus stricta
From a distance, I thought these aquatic plants were a Myriophyllum species, but they turned out to be the aquatic form of Bulbous Rush! Bodmin Moor today. Completely folds flat when taken out of the water.
Juncus bulbosus
Mouse-ear Hawkweed from Bodmin Moor and the last one from Wadebridge for #wildflowerhour I think this is an attractive composite species.
Pilosella officinarum
Naturalised Silver Ragwort on the cliffs below Plymouth Hoe yesterday for #wildflowerhour The hybrid with Common Ragwort was also nearby.
Jacobaea maritima
Heath Bedstraw flowering in good numbers on Bodmin Moor today. The 2st photo shows a clump out of reach of sheep, so it's it's much larger & bushier than the others.
Galium saxatile
