The government is shutting down no matter what. If you wanted to avoid this, you could have accepted the Dems' 30-day extension to negotiate a viable bill. Instead, you’re forcing Dems to pass a bill that gives the president IMMENSE & UNCHECKED power to redirect funds and shut down programs, effectively shutting down the government anyway. Congress should unite to uphold checks and balances instead of allowing party divisions to hand over Congressional powers to the president. Losing American’s system of CHECKS & BALANCES is FRIGHTENING. I’d rather see a bill I dislike pass than LOSE our SEPARATION of POWERS. Why is Congress letting the executive branch use y’all as a tool??

@realNel727 @ReallyAmerican1 Tariffs r directly linked to goods being sold, so it has a huge effect on costs that consumers ultimately bear. It influence prices much more than bus income taxes, which are indirect costs. Businesses usually place much less emphasis on income tax % when setting consumer prices.
