@SANDEECARBRAWL We do, we also get links to the profile, which are harder for any botfarmers to trace, if they happen to be looking in to that sort of thing.
@EWeixel @GreenPeaches2 Hi! While some accounts share some traits with bots, the full picture is always taken into account when identifying bot accounts. While you may tweet and rt more than average, there are other factors, such as reaching out to us, that would not lead us to think you are a bot. ☺️
@TheKyleMurray@apokerplayer It really is. It's a side effect of the hyper partisan times we live in, and turning people against the echo chamber creating bots can only help return us to sanity. There has to be a way to get to these people, in a broader way than case by case with intensive evidence.
There are people that think it's ok for computer programs written by hostile entities with their own agendas to dictate our national conversation simply because they agree with what they say. We've been thinking on how to change those people's minds.
Ideas? RT.
In light of recent events, we'd like to prioritize bots (and only bots) supporting child separation at the border. #BorderBots need to be shut down! Send us URLs and remember to RT. This is important. Thanks 🙂
Some of you are no doubt wondering where we've been. We're currently working on reorganizing to be more effective in our mission to shut down bots. While we did and continue to do a lot of good, there are ways to become more effective, and we're exploring them. Keep up the fight!
@pherring We'll put you on our list! We'll let you know when you can help once other people have had the chance to sign up, we don't want to create any bizarre scheduling conflicts 🙂
@pherring That's a great question, right now we are looking for any of our long time followers with anywhere from 1 to 6 extra hours a week they'd like to donate. This should allow us to successfully keep pace with the amount of reports we receive.
@kdqd3@GreenPeaches2@KassandraSeven @hunley_nolan Most of our tweets are so.ilar sounding reports, he have signs of being a bot too if you think about it! Most Twitter accounts have one or two of these features, but it's when and how they combine that they become suspect. You showed human intelligence, you're not a bot 😁
@SaraKubik It's the simplest form of bot. Those names are picked by twitter when you go to make an account, and unless you change it you'll wind up with 8 numbers. Since 8 number bots are often mass produced RT or reply attack bots, there's no point in giving them any trappings of humanity.
@dogleaps@KassandraSeven@GreenPeaches2@kdqd3 @hunley_nolan Those can be helpful when looking for bots, but we still manually check each profile for signs of bots. They're like like detector tests: you can't use them as conclusive evidence, but they can help point you in the the right direction.
