We were thrilled to spend an evening with BotSoc's Chair, Bongani Mnisi, and Conservation Manager, Rupert Koopman at the weekend. It was fantastic getting to know them, and sharing some ideas on how to take our branch forward.
Our BotSoc Chair Bongani Mnisi and Conservation Manager Rupert Koopman took to the road to visit some of our branches - stopping off to meet the members of the Garden Route Branch in George and the Southern Overberg BotSoc Branch members in Napier.
Meet some of the alien clearing warriors who, every Friday morning, meet along the Klippedrift River in #Napier, to hack down invasive plants. They've been at this for 3 years, led by BotSoc members, Ronel and Kobus. And they've already cleared a stretch of more than 500m.
You're invited to join our #Napier Klippedrift River Open Morning - to show you how you can benefit from this lovely spot in Napier. DATE: Friday 18 March, from 8am-11am; PLACE: Klippedrift River, parking on Trade Street. Please pop in to say hello.
Our sincere #gratitude to Sarah Foyle and Marion Naudé. Both these plant lovers and loyal #BotSoc members have retired from the Southern Overberg #BotSoc committee after years of service. We'll miss their expertise.

@HaroldPorterNBG did not disappoint during a recent #SouthernOverberg BotSoc committee outing: The secretive 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘢 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘢 (#RedDisa) showed off her beautiful colours on the sheer cliff drops. Our thanks to our guide for the day, Tim Attwell, for hosting us.
