My 92-year old grandma: “Looks like you’re getting a lil butt back there.”
Considering I’ve always had a “lil butt,” I understand this is her way of letting me know I’ve gained weight…in case I missed it. 🤨
John McGinn has implored his Scotland teammates to go for the jugular in Wednesday’s pivotal World Cup clash against Brazil in Miami:
“We have to attack Brazil. The second half [against Morocco] showed that when we get after teams, no-one likes being under that pressure.”
Congrats to this legend on retirement. One of the best leaders the game has seen. I could not have asked for a better teammate to come into the league with and I’m proud of all our success together over the years.
This guy collected every local law in America and put them in a single database.
2.2 million laws.
This might seem to you like some nerds side project, and while it is technically, it is also much more important than you think.
Historically, whenever anything is made transparent to the voting bloc it undergoes radical change.
Every. Single. Time.
To the extent governments work overtime to make things opaque. (And I expect that to happen to this dataset too very soon, in a thousand different ways.)
The internet makes everything including politics “global/local” and local laws won’t escape.
It’s hard to understand right now how profound this will be, but we live in interesting times for sure.
Thank you Joe, and all the other nerds who do stuff like this because they are personally curious and they can. This is how history moves forwards
Your future is being shaped by the choices you make today.
Small positive decisions may seem insignificant, but they create powerful outcomes over time.
Choose wisely.
Choose intentionally.
What positive choice will you make today?
Nice to have met you in Nice. A productive first leg indeed. The India-France partnership will keep scaling new heights.
See you in Evian and Paris…
@EmmanuelMacron
Yes, mass migration - something you’ve supported your entire career - fundamentally changes American communities.
Remind me again, who else did voters recently reject?
Went back to Disclosure Day for a 2nd look.
What became painfully apparent was that Spielberg made an analog movie in a digital world.
Not a comment on the production. But it’s loaded with old ideas of edge that have since become worn out. In micro, his skills and the skills of the cast and crew deliver. But in macro, it feels like he and the screenwriter just didn’t answer the challenging questions… like why not just put it all online from the start? Or is every chase “find the target… send 5 dark cars.” Drones weren’t a thing in the 80s and 90s. They are ubiquitous now.
It feels like a film from someone who really likes what they did. It doesn’t feel like someone overcoming the broken sharks of 2026.
It’s an entire movie leading to getting on local broadcast TV.
Send the video to everyone you know showing how heinously Nowak was treated by the police in his dying moments and how the police cravenly kowtowed to his murderer.
Legacy mainstream media, same ones who wrote about George Floyd millions of times, are dead silent about Nowak.
