DILLON’S DIRTY TRUCKER ROAD DIARIES THE DRIFTER Episode 2: “Broke Down Trucker” Starring: @PikeManville
The word Jubilee comes from the Hebrew yobel / the ram’s horn. A signal that something meaningful is happening. Not exactly a trucker’s word, but it’s been one hell of a year.
Looking back, there have been moments that challenged me, humbled me, and reminded me how grateful I am to still be standing. I’ve learned so much from everyone, including this man right here @PikeManville he and his partner are beautiful reminders how beautiful life is.
Out on these roads, we all break down sometimes. We get tired. We get discouraged. We take wrong turns. Yet somehow, we keep moving forward. That’s life. One man. One trucker. One day at a time. I’ve learned that integrity is less about words and more about actions. It’s showing up when you’re needed, doing your best, and keeping your promises.
Not long ago, I almost lost my partner to a heart attack. The road changed direction in an instant. Fortunately, I made it to the hospital exactly when I needed to be there. That experience reminded me of helping a trucker stranded on the side of the road. Sometimes there isn’t time to overthink things. Sometimes the answer is simple: show up.
Growth rarely comes from comfort. The road teaches us through good days and hard days, victories and setbacks, and the people we meet along the way. Every mile matters. Every lesson counts. The older I get, the more I realize that life isn’t lived on my terms, it’s lived on life’s terms.
Today, I’m grateful. Grateful for my partner, my friendships, this community, and even the challenges that helped me grow. I’m still learning. Still building. Still planting seeds one connection at a time. The story keeps moving, and there’s always another chapter waiting to be written.
That’s why I continue to seek guidance from mentors, friends, sponsors, and people whose wisdom I respect. Experience matters. Perspective matters. And one truth I’ve learned is this: there are no secrets. Only the ones we keep from ourselves.
The answers we seek are often right in front of us, waiting for us to become willing enough to see them. As we continue trudging the road toward a happier destination, may we remain teachable, grateful, and willing to grow. The best is still ahead.
Have a great day, my friends.
