190 years ago on this day in 1836, in the middle of the Revolution, Texans gathered at Washington on the Brazos, and declared they would no longer live under tyranny. It was a bold act of conviction, rooted in faith, family, and the belief that free people have the right to govern themselves.
Texans chose liberty, knowing the fight ahead would be hard. That same spirit of determination guides us even now.
