Boulder, CO — Boulder County AA Central Office: Radical Feminist Takeover Betrays AA’s Genderless Traditions, Bans Popular Newcomers Meeting in Secret Purge
In the shadow of the Flatirons, Boulder County Alcoholics Anonymous Intergroup and Central Office (BCCO) has devolved into a petty fiefdom of ideological enforcers. What was once a humble service office supporting sober alcoholics has been captured by radical feminist activists wielding gender-based attacks and baseless disruptions to silence dissent and traditional recovery work. The most egregious casualty is the wildly popular Newcomers/Slippers Step Workshop on Zoom — a daily 4 PM meeting dedicated to helping desperate newcomers and returning “slippers” navigate the 12 Steps. This workshop offers practical sponsorship, literature packets, detox guidance, and real step work in a straightforward, non-political format. It drew alcoholics from across the country seeking genuine recovery, not lectures.
According to local reports and insiders, one day a few drunk or agenda-driven women repeatedly invaded the meeting, launching vicious gender attacks instead of focusing on sobriety. Rather than protecting the group’s autonomy and unity — as AA Tradition 1 and 4 demand — BCCO bureaucrats banned the entire meeting without due process, evidence, or a proper group conscience vote. No show of cause. No appeal. Just cancellation by fiat.
BCCO is not a governing body. It’s a hostile takeover. AA’s founding literature and Traditions are explicitly genderless and non governing: “The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.” Yet in Boulder, a clique appears more interested in enforcing contemporary identity politics than saving lives from the deadly disease of alcoholism. Women-only meetings exist for those who prefer them. Open meetings are supposed to remain open to anyone suffering — especially shaky newcomers. The hypocrisy stinks.
While AA claims to avoid outside controversies, BCCO has imported culture-war tactics that punish a successful step workshop serving the very people AA was founded to help. Contributions meant for expenses and literature now fund bureaucratic power plays.
Enough. It’s time to clean house at Boulder County Central Office. Fire the entire entrenched crew. Restore the Newcomers/Slippers Workshop immediately. Alcoholics don’t need more Karens playing AA police — they need a program that works, free of political hijacking.
Sobriety is hard enough without ideological gatekeepers turning the lifeboat into a battleground. Boulder’s alcoholics deserve better.
Say what you will, but Donald Trump stopped the war in Iran, stopped war with Hezbollah. And he opened the Strait of Hormuz today. Stock market is up. TESLA IS UP. Oil prices dropping. Gas prices dropping. Trump's foreign policies are right up there with Roosevelts, Reagans and Nixon's. NEXTDOOR REMOVED THIS POST AND BANNED ME. THATS BECAUSE THEY ARE LEFTIST WOMEN WHO HATE EVERYTHING..
What will be amazing if all wars in the middle East come to and end with everyone getting along. PEACE I realize Next-door eventually deletes my posts as a local well known journalist on the Middle East so get your comments in while you can. ND never touches my cat 🐈 posts. .maybe I'll put a cat photo up... nothing to censor here... Just pass on by
The Comments Devolved into screaming insults by the usual suspects.( on next-door? No!) 18 people Agreed w me 7 Disagreed . That's pretty good here in Boulder. The disagrees pretty hateful.. not very next-door at all Thank-you for your discussion on todays events in Iran and Lebanon. Those of you who know how ... til the next -jann THANKS Everyone for all of your vibrant engagement on this..
Before ND Removes us..huge thanks. Excellent job.. I I guess we are all watching cable news and following this? I'm watching Aljazeera from .the middle east. Plus I have all the other news channels to see wh is on top .of all this. I watch everything. YOu? what are you watching? see, I don't look at current events the way most of you. It's my training. I look at each days events without preconceived notions of right or wrong. I look to see what is the essence of what is happening here today. What is actually happening. Is it working or not. ..........................
You start out with Trump is wrong and bad.. at the outset. From there you cant come up with sound evaluation . Its tough.. cause most of you are anti -war, anti military and definitely anti Trump... so you can never get to the reality of the events... I'm not like that... I dig in to what is happening. .. and from there I make decisions... on what is real... You don't want to see reality. You want your own fantasy of what is is. I took down the original post and reposted it here. Too many of you were going crazy.... women screaming crying pulling their hair out.. Men whipping themselves with chains.... It's Okay... the war in Iran is over brothers and sisters.. pretty cool

Boulder adopts No Queens Day April 1 2026 BOULDER, Colo. – Boulder is recognized as a leading city of America. Boulder to celebrate its first Neil Gorsuch Day on May 1st Neil McGill Gorsuch is an American jurist serving as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Nominated by President Donald Trump, he has served since April 10, 2017 He is from Boulder. The city feels it should honor and respect our very own Supreme Court Justice on May Day each year. It has somehow missed this opportunity in the past. Even though Justice Gorsuch has voted against everything Boulder stands for including gender bending, the city wants to let bygones be bygones with its hometown justice and looks to start anew. The council vote 9-1 to affirm Neil Gorsuch Day. The one dissenting vote came from Tayshia Adams who said " I'm not voting for that cracker white racist pig. Do you think I'm crazy?"

ROOTS MUSIC FESTIVAL COMING BOULDER, Colorado — Boulder Channel 1 News — By Music Editor
March 11, 2026
Remember that buzz last fall when the first Boulder Roots Music Fest took over Pearl Street? Hundreds of artists, multiple stages, crowds dancing outdoors in October—Andy Frasco & The U.N., North Mississippi Allstars, https://t.co/VlCoaQeqIT We had them on Boulder channel 1.
Yonder Mountain String Band, and a ton of local acts turning downtown into one big free-for-all roots celebration. It happened, it drew people, it made noise.
Now the question is: Can they do it again, and make it stick?
Organizers just flipped the switch on the 2026 version, announcing dates for Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30—a full shift to late summer instead of fall. The official site at https://t.co/lOypGu7g6s is live, showing a preview of the format (still centered on Pearl Street venues and outdoor stages), a recap video from last year's inaugural run, and the promise that lineup announcements, ticket prices, and new features are "coming soon."
No headliners named yet. No on-sale date. Just save-the-dates and a teaser for an upgraded Premium Pass—with hints to block off
for what could be pre-festival kickoffs or special events. Will those turn into ticketed warm-ups, VIP experiences, or something else?
Details pending. The fest is still run by Bear Roots, the nonprofit tie-up between Roots Music Project (the Pearl Street-area venue that's been grinding since before the pandemic) and Caruso Ventures. Last year's push came with big funding from the Caruso Foundation, ballooning the budget and artist count. This time, they're leaning on the Boulder Roots Founders Experience—that donor/insider circle—to help scale it without losing the community feel.
So far, no massive changes announced beyond the date shift and the premium upgrade. The site still spotlights 2025 performers to remind everyone what worked. Artist applications closed already, with talk of "over 600 artists" again, but no confirmation on exact numbers or if the stage count stays the same.
Is Boulder ready for another roots takeover in the height of summer? Will the crowds show up twice as hard, or was last October a one-time lightning strike? And with premium perks dangling and founders footing part of the bill, how much does this stay grassroots versus go pro?
The website's up. The calendar holds those dates. The rest—lineup, tickets, what those Wednesday/Thursday nights actually mean—still in the air.
We'll keep watching. If it builds into something lasting, Boulder could have a new annual fixture. If not, it'll be another big weekend that came and went. Either way, the music's playing—question is, who's listening this time around?
