A rather more comfortable night last night, overnight minimum 18.3°C following a max of 26.8°C yesterday, so thats six hot (>26.7°C / 80°F) days in a row.
@peacockreports I remember 1976 well. Yes it was hot in the sun but I don't remember feeling as uncomfortable as I have done this week. Even my 8 year old has had trouble sleeping, which I didnt have in 76.
This week has knocked 76 out of the park, IMHO
One or two may be complaining that their local radio station is getting interference from Italian stations this morning. This is not down to the heatwave, but to another unrelated phenomenon entirely: Sporadic E, or E-skip. Google it....
@phil_layton Yes, backward step, we need to keep the LW option for emergencies, can't just rely on the Internet! what happens if e.g. the Russians cut all the undersea cables and Musk turns Starlink off?
Overnight minimum 23.2°C.
Wind a light southwesterly this morning heralding the end of this heatwave, so not sure what to expect for a maximum but it won't be as high as yesterday's 34.5°C
@peacockreports@newforestwx Same here. 34.5 peak so far, 0.9 above yesterdays, which itself was a station record. NE wind instead of a weak sea breeze the difference.
Temperature chart for Mon (blue), Tue (red), yesterday (blue) and today so far (green). Easy to see that each night warmer than the night before. Tues was the day with the brisk ESE wind off the sea pinning temps back until the wind died off.
