@WeHaveWaysPod@RobbieRinder I generally love this podcast, but I thought this episode was by far the best I've ever heard. @RobbieRinder brought so much humanity to the story of his family experience. He was exceptional.
@WeHaveWaysPod@almurray@James1940 I thought @James1940 and @almurray did an exception job on this series. Respectful and thought provoking whilst also remaining factual and continuing to break the myths as needed.
A tough but important listen.
@DouweKorff @teachertwit2@marcuschown If NFU have used a definition that includes farms with farm shops and other retail/leisure businesses then it's hard to justify a lower tax than on non-agricultural business inheritance.
@DouweKorff @teachertwit2@marcuschown There's clearly a difference in the definition being used by the Government and the NFU.
Of course, that definition may also change the nature of the discussion. If the value of agricultural equipment is taxed, then there's a bigger issue than the 500 but...
@SneekyD_@teachertwit2@marcuschown This is true of all tax thresholds, most notably the higher income charge on child benefit that hasn't increased since its introduction.
@ajjolley@NGAMedia For further context, the National College's Safer Recruitment and Single Central Record training courses are both slightly over an hour 1.04 or thereabouts.
@ajjolley@NGAMedia As a governor, I recently did the DfE's recommended data security update. It was about 40 minutes, to the point and informative.
I do not have 90 minutes to spend exploring food standards. I want the key facts to hand, alongside some obvious questions to support and challenge.
@philw1988@JayStevo86 @DogsDogsMoreDog @Jamestaylor2@scope You don't think it's necessary.
(No idea how or why you get to this conclusion)
You get there are hidden disabilities (so you haven't just decided that they "don't look" disabled).
Nope.
Not getting your point at all.
@sturdyAlex I do think that this sums up the situation well. Everyone is keen for functioning public services but wants someone else tonoay for it. Usually, with little understanding of the kinds of numbers involved.
