@LexerLux Ultimately, the entire dev process behind this game has been a circus run by an unreliable narrator. I have sympathy for Dizzie, but everything they say just comes across as addict schizoid rambling.
It’s unfortunate because everything present in Fortune’s Run is phenomenal.
@CTPhipps1980@ShitpostRock Plenty of people who could be perceived as “left-leaning” at the time hated the depiction of the oppressed becoming the oppressors, but I always thought that line of thought was divorced from the reality of how humans function. This was the only outcome possible in Columbia.
@SwearImNoRabbit@ShitpostRock Yeah, the pacing drops off hard to an almost tortuous extent as soon as they start jumping dimensions. You’re immediately pulled out of a story that requires you to feel personally attached to its characters. Way too large of a scope and too poor of an execution to care atp.
@Parturient_ @NobodyIsOurGuy And an entire camp of NPCs with one in particular explaining that they can no longer perform their duties in the quarry because of the NEST OF DEATHCLAWS, INCLUDING IN PARTICULAR A MATRIARCH, that has taken up there.
@BonelessKimchi@JGAnno24@2ndDerich I think the dude is a Kaiser Permanente subscriber. Saw him with his wife in the waiting room of a Kaiser clinic in Kent about 7 years ago while I was picking up a prescription. Maybe comb through places that accept Kaiser lmao.
@Captain_NoFeels@JCeacc@TW0HEADEDBEAST That was a fun game! I think for rockstar’s sake, it mostly comes down to their engine and moreso their priorities at the time as developers. There’s a reason that this game was called a “GTA clone” despite sporting better visuals.
@Captain_NoFeels@JCeacc@TW0HEADEDBEAST Far Cry was a PC-only shooter serving as a fleshed-out tech demo of the Cryengine. Nothing really came close to it at the time—certainly nothing that would also be on the PS2, at that.
@RealPostFolder This is boomer nonsense that has categorically destroyed the American family. Forcing your kids to reinvent the wheel in a world that is alien to the one you grew up in instead of building upon the foundation you’ve built is antithetical to the American way and psychopathic.
@BeigeFrequency I think Tim’s character in OnCinema is better amalgam parody of internet conservatism than anything in this clip directed at Jones, and it’s shocking how stale this skit is in comparison to how genuinely great and funny his performance is on the show.
@PwnShop69@SaveDaChimps@ClownWorld Two-inch caps are standard in the United States, and they work just fine in states without rough winters. The problem here is that there’s no prep and no compaction on the material. You don’t lay 4” of mix on top of an existing 3+” lol.
@heisei_ramen@floridabee4@GmanLives That’s the direction twtr discourse has taken. These guys will accuse you of either “media illiteracy” or being a tourist if you don’t agree with their incredibly stunted, narrow-minded opinions. So caught up on a single enemy type throwing spears that the discussion ends there.
@BonSens47865369@KageyamaHate@marianarchiste The smallpox blankets thing in particular doesn’t really hold up under scrutiny anyway since the popular belief during this time was miasma theory. How could common men plot biological warfare w a concept that wouldn’t reach scientific consensus until the late 1800s?
@Mangalawyer It really can’t be understated how bad of an impression Matt Hansen left on Avowed and Obsidian as a whole, and while it and Outer Worlds 2 have their problems that led to them flopping, I think Hansen’s comments have left a considerable lasting impact that aided in their failure
@NobodyIsOurGuy@TheVaultTecInc I think FO3 stands as a genuine attempt at a Fallout game that is tonally consistent with its predecessors—just with Emil’s brand of shallow writing. Mothership Zeta and onward is where they decided to completely reshape what they thought the series could be, unfortunately.
@deerinspedlight@ShitpostRock@Awk20000 The mold isn’t holding anyone back from buying it. People just aren’t racing to buy homes in shithole Seattle. These two morons bought a house here when homes have been sitting for the past few years, and didn’t think to factor that into their decision before jumping head-first.
@tyleraloevera@wigger You guys should check out the “senior assisted living facilities” these guys build in WA. Subsidized McMansions that never house any seniors, but I did paving work for one who was using his “facility” as a brothel lmao.
@shotpianist@Howlingmutant0@ShitpostRock Barring Broken Steel, I just wish they had, at the very least, considered something even as simple as “oh, no, Lone Wanderer, there’re more Enclave reinforcements on the way. I’ll stay outside and assist the brotherhood while you secure the purifier.”
@TolgaTTV@ShitpostRock I 100% agree with you, but I also don’t know where else they could have gone with the series after TPL. It’s the absolute best of the 3D platformer genre, but also released at the tail-end of the genre’s relevancy. ND took a necessary leap of faith, and it paid off.
