UPDATE: The Speaker of Abaqulusi (Vryheid) Local Municipality, Nonkululeko Ndlela, is in the firing line following comments she made at a funeral of an assassinated whistleblower and EFF activists in Mondlo in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

Ndlela allegedly told the funeral that nepotism is rife in IFP-run municipalities like Abaqulusi and Zululand district municipality, but it rarely gets attention because they are in rural areas.

She reportedly also alleged corruption and other shenanigans are rife in these municipalities.

The IFP has since written to her to explain the comments by Sunday and in what capacity she attended the funeral of Zwane, who was once a member of the party before joining the EFF. @ScrollaAfrica
