@stirling_j Not the biggest fan of this at all. Will just result in suppression of creativity. By all means be rigid in defence but that needs to give the platform to the players to have confidence to find their own solutions going forward.

Mike Penders is the real deal. Many amazing saves this season coupled with his ability to play out the back. Especially impressed with his confidence to play low driven balls through the centre of the pitch cutting through 2 sometimes 3 lines of opposition.

5. Screening or picks can disrupt the defence, open up passes, create shooting opportunities and produce openings for unpredictable progressive carries which is ideal in breaking down a low-block.

With the rise in compact and organised low blocks I'd love to see attacking teams taking further inspiration from futsal and basketball with the use of "picks" / "screening". Read on 👇

4. Its important for the ball-carrier to be explosive as the screens will provide only a short opportunity and if caught-out the rest defence of the attacking team may be unsettled due to the nature of the attack.
