Day 2 of holibobs, nice walk in the pouring rain this morning, then later to a brewery where I helped mum with drinking her lager - non alcoholic๐. She made up for it with apple crumble and custard though๐๐
6 weeks & counting . Born to a boxer we took off the euthanasia list in a southern shelter. The shelter staff thought she was sick, she was in labor and thin . So many in need. They will be ready to go to a home with another dog in 3 weeks #boxerpuppies#puppylove#pups#adopt
Yesterday, Dogs on the Streets received an urgent call from someone we have supported for many years.
Over the years, we've stood by the owner through some of his darkest times, including taking his beloved dog, Taz, into foster care when he needed help.
Taz wasn't just a pet โ he was family, a companion, and one of the biggest reasons his owner kept fighting through his rehabilitation journey.
Yesterday, Taz suddenly collapsed. He was heavily panting, vomiting, and rapidly deteriorating. In desperation, his owner contacted the veterinary practice that had been involved with Taz over the years. Shockingly, they refused to see him because there were no funds available upfront and no payment plan could be agreed.
How can a dog be left to suffer in such a critical condition because of money? It is absolutely heartbreaking and, quite frankly, shocking.
As soon as we received the call, we stepped in immediately.
Sadly, by the time Taz was assessed, his condition had deteriorated so severely that the vet advised the kindest and most humane option was euthanasia. There was no quality of life left for him, and he was suffering greatly.
our hearts are broken for Taz's owner. The bond they shared was incredible, and the loss is devastating. No one should have to face this alone.
Dogs on the Streets has covered the full veterinary bill of ยฃ571.90 including Taz's euthanasia, an individual cremation, and the return of his ashes so that he can come home where he belongs.
We will continue to support his owner through this unimaginable loss, just as we always have.
Run free, beautiful Taz. ๐๐พ
You were loved beyond words, and you will never be forgotten.
To all veterinary practices: please remember that behind every dog is a human being who loves them. Compassion should never depend solely on the size of someone's bank account.
If anyone would like to help contribute towards the cost we made you can do so in the link below and if you could title it Taz, thank you ๐งก

Tony is a gorgeous boy . Heโs located in #Pittsburgh PA. Along with two female boxers heโs in need of a new home. Heโs dog & kid friendly. We need a foster or adopter to get him out of a tough situation. Itโs the summer dump season can you #foster more dogs than help #boxerdogs
Tyson is waiting for his forever home and heโs been showing off on the doggy treadmill like a pro! Itโs one of his favorite ways to burn off energy. Take a look at his bio and if heโs not your match, please share him far and wide.
