@LadybugSneezes@TonyZierraX@the_Hotstar@PeterValente12@AVARY You ask about misstatements or typos in your post: "Kubrick" is misspelled in a couple spots as "Kubrik". Another thing is that Marie-Hélène Rothschild did not host the masked ball at Mentmore Towers, but rather at Château de Ferrières, in France. Good luck with your study!
@cam_barnette@SeanWakeTheDead@danedowneyjr@seamonkey10@tupacabra No worries, Cameron. Many thanks. If you're interested, I did extensive revisions to the article last summer, integrating some new points. I added a new foreword outlining where the new parts can be found in the essay, so you don't have to re-read the whole thing. Thanks again!
@cam_barnette@SeanWakeTheDead@danedowneyjr@seamonkey10@tupacabra Thanks very much for your interest and support. Your take on my essay is not how I regard it though...I don't consider it a comprehensive look at the movie's conspiracist aspects, but rather as an overall analysis of symbols/motifs/themes. The occult stuff is just one element.
@UntoldIntell @KubrickAS Hi Anna @UntoldIntell - I just checked and yes, it's there - posted on the @KubrickAS Facebook page by Kubrick scholar Nathan Abrams @ndabrams. Congratulations on the book, looking forward to reading it.
Last week I attended a conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I gave a presentation about mythological references in the @StanleyKubrick film Eyes Wide Shut and participated as a panelist in 3 roundtable discussions. Thanks @southwestpca! Hopefully see you again next year.
@LATXhybrid @StanleyKubrick It took about 7 months of continuous, almost daily research/writing/editing. It started as a 3000-word essay for a film class about 12 years ago. But I always felt there was more to say, so years later I started adding to it—not knowing it would turn into 25000 words 😆.
@LATXhybrid @StanleyKubrick Yeah that’s how I always saw the movie, as you described. Thanks for reading my piece. If you think it’s long now, you might be surprised how much I cut out!🙂 But yeah thanks a bunch for the feedback, it’s much appreciated. 👍🏼
