Late King Oyo’s mother, Best Kemigisa says that her family had hoped King Oyo’s child would return to Tooro with them from Texas.

However, as the succession dispute in Tooro became tense and polarised, concerns arose about bringing a child into the conflict. She says the child ultimately did not return with the family.

She expressed deep sadness, saying that regardless of the disagreements surrounding the succession, no child should be placed in circumstances where returning to his father’s homeland could expose him to hostility and conflict.
