Help our staff keep the park clean! Don’t leave anything you brought behind when you are heading home.
Our staff spends many hours cleaning up the trash when visitors leave. Remember to Leave No Trace when you are visiting any park!
There are no fireworks allowed at Boyd Lake! This includes sparklers, bottle rockets, fountains and any other fire crackers.
Have a safe holiday weekend!!
Operation Dry Water 2021 is July 2-4.
Operation Dry Water is a national awareness and enforcement campaign focused on reducing the number of alcohol- and drug- related accidents and fatalities and fostering a stronger, more visible deterrent to alcohol and drug use on the water.
Don’t forget to get your decontaminations before this weekend. We are expected to have long wait times again at the inspection station with the holiday.
We have intercepted 12 mussel boats already this year!
The decontamination station is open from 8am-8pm daily.
The water has been very busy and we want everyone to stay safe! Make sure you know all the rules and regulations before going out on the water. We have signs at each of our boat ramps that have a QR code to the boating brochure.
Always remember to have your life jackets!
This catfish was caught while another one was on the line!
Come on out to the park and give it a try! We have lots of species in the lake, just make sure you have your fishing licnese before you go!
This bull snake decided to make a home at the Swim Beach playground so rangers relocated him because he was being harassed. Please leave all wildlife alone and don’t try to poke them with sticks.

Boyd Lake is expected to be at capacity this Father’s Day weekend. Be prepared for long wait times at the entrance and boat ramp.
An annual pass does not guarantee you entrance into the park before anyone else.

June 5th and 6th is free fishing weekend! Come on out and give it a try on this beautiful weekend!
All fishing limits still apply and only 1 rod per person is allowed unless you have an extra rod stamp.

People aren’t the only ones that like to fish the inlet!
Many pelicans fish by swimming in cooperative groups. They drive fish into shallow water by beating their wings on the surface. When fish congregate in the shallows, the pelicans simply scoop them up.
The Swim Beach is now open! Remember there are no dogs, glass or fishing allowed on the swim beach.
We will be very busy this holiday weekend so be prepared to wait to get into the park. There will also be extended wait times for the boat inspections.
Always maintain a proper lookout and be aware of other boaters and the environment while boating.
Make sure you are following the navigation laws as well! At Boyd there is a counterclockwise direction on both the south and north ends of the lake.

Did you know the environment may stress your body & mind enough to make the risk of an accident much greater while boating?
Make sure to always keep a proper lookout and drive at a safe speed to avoid accidents.
