Well well well! My 13 year old grandson had to visit Sick Kids in Edinburgh today due to a rugby injury. I'm sure @JohnSwinney will be delighted that the nurse followed NHS protocol and asked if he could possibly be pregnant. Then he had to sign a document confirming he wasn't

Rest in Power to a woman who rose from abuse to empower girls through literacy.
Feminists come in all shapes & wear many heels.
New rape figures show 1 rape or attempted rape every 18 hours in Glasgow.
What a dreadful reality.
We have been calling this an emergency for some time, while some have downplayed, denied the situation or mocked those raising concerns.
We are women living in Scotland, many of us in Glasgow. We have been approached and followed ourselves. We have changed how we live our lives because of fear.
So when we hear of a shocking rise in sexual assaults and rape against women and girls, particularly in Glasgow, we acknowledge that reality. We don't deny it. We don't dismiss it. And we certainly don't stay silent.
Yet our government has.
That silence should itself be cause for concern.
You don't reach figures like these overnight. They develop over time. So how have we reached a point where Glasgow is recording a rape or attempted rape every 18 hours without this becoming a constant, urgent focus for the media, politicians and the Scottish Government?
We've said it before: this should be dominating the news. Politicians should be speaking about it.
These figures are recorded by Police Scotland and published by the Scottish Government, which makes the lack of political urgency all the more difficult to understand.
The figures show a huge rise in domestic violence, from 164 cases to 400, while The Glasgow Times has reported several cases of rape in the city centre in recent months.
And yet we've seen people mock or try to dismiss those who have been raising concerns about this city. In fact, John Swinney even said Glasgow was “looking great” as the Commonwealth Games were approaching.
Perhaps it looks great when you’re not the woman having to navigate it.
One rape or attempted rape every 18 hours. This is an emergency.
If I were JK Rowling and had been badly defamed by a national newspaper in relation to made-up Holocaust denial, I might ask for them to make a generous donation to @ForWomenScot, alongside the grovelling apology they’d owe me 💅
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was the best contribution to child literacy ever made by a celebrity. Our paths crossed once, in the 90s, backstage at a talk show, and I was completely tongue-tied and starstruck. RIP Dolly. You were a complete, irreplaceable one-off.
🚨A British undercover reporter just invaded his own country on a migrant dinghy… and the French police HELPED the smugglers.
Christian Drogan spent weeks living in Calais camps posing as a fugitive British criminal.
Then he boarded a packed inflatable with dozens of illegal migrants, filmed the entire chaotic crossing, and watched French gendarmes offer the smugglers free taxi rides straight back to the beach so they could organise the next wave.
Border Force picked them up in UK waters. One officer even told him: “You’re on the wrong boat.”
This is the reality the establishment doesn’t want you seeing.
French authorities facilitating the trade.
British borders treated like a suggestion.
And a journalist had to risk his life to prove it.
When does “control” actually mean control?
The Guardian is attacking me over receiving money from X.
Trust me, if I wanted to make money, I would NOT be in politics. I donate my entire net MP salary to charity.
This is the most expensive job I’ve ever had, comfortably!
So let me get this straight, hormones make women crazy. Crazy enough to kill three innocent babies and be exonerated of guilt, but prescribing hormones to children who think they’re the opposite gender has no psychological effects whatsoever?
Did I get that right?
I cannot stop thinking about Jack Lees choosing to swim back into the rip for the third student.
On 4 June 2024, at Northcott Mouth in Cornwall, three young women were caught in a powerful rip current. Jack and his friend Zaid Anfoka helped two out of the rip. Jack then went back for the third.
He stayed with her for about 40 minutes until she escaped the current. All three women made it back. Jack, 20, did not.
I feel heartbroken by what his courage cost him. I think Britain should know his name (I wish more people did).
Had you heard Jack’s name before?
When will @DefraGovUK really stand up for British farmers and their produce. Still no proper labelling Why are we allowing eggs not up to UK standard into the country ?
The FM of Scotland earns £190,284.
The standard MSP earns £77,711
A cabinet minister earns £136,112
A junior minister earns £114,297
The PO earns £136,112
The deputy PO earns £114,297
On top of that they receive expenses like a paid holiday to watch the World Cup in America for the FM and his staff.
The FM earns about £21K more than the UK PM.
There’s 129 MSPs sitting in the Scottish parliament. There’s 20 ministerial positions 8 cabinet positions and 11 junior ministers in the Scottish cabinet.
Every person in Scotland is represented by 8 total MSPs (1 local constituency MSP and 7 regional list MSPs)
Now tell me devolution is working for the Scottish people ?
Very frustrating to hear concerns of deaf Brits who cannot access appropriate interpretation support on the NHS whilst we spend millions translating for Afghans, Somalis, Pakistanis and whoever else fancies it.
Every penny spent on foreign language translation must be scrapped.
This is disgusting.
Nearly £100,000 of taxpayers’ money spent on John Swinney, an SNP minister and their entourage going to the World Cup.
More than £45,000 on flights. Business-class travel. Nearly £10,000 on hotels. Thousands more on car hire — including £5,458 for Maree Todd’s car in Miami.
And some of the officials travelling at our expense have not even been identified.
The scale of this is incredible.
£98,442. On this.
While taxpayers are being hammered and public services are crying out for money, SNP ministers seem to think the public purse is there to fund luxury travel for themselves and their advisers.
It is absolutely indefensible.
John Swinney should explain every penny of it.
Going from bad to worse... A matter of weeks ago the stretch of the River Thames at Ham and Kingston designated as a bathing water was reporting E coli levels 6 times over the legal limit, now blue-green algae has appeared.
Short version, stay the hell out of the river.
🚨WATCH: A mother in Ceuta has broken down in tears on Live TV:
"My 16-year-old daughter has to go everywhere with her father or with me because the migrants devour her. I can't take it anymore. I want them all gone."
The left-wing feminists are silent.
I wish schools still opened each morning with hymn-singing in assembly. It fostered a real sense of community now so often absent.
At weddings and funerals one sees younger guests looking utterly lost the moment the organ strikes up - a “them” (the young) and “us” (the middle aged and elderly) is imposed on the occasion.
I still keep my battered school hymn book and have a sing a long with our children from time to time. The hymns are part of their heritage.
Christian hymns form part of the quiet glue that holds our society together in celebration and in grief. They give a resilience and unity no Taylor Swift or Justin Timberlake anthem can hope to match.
Bring back communal worship and singing in our schools*.
Strengthen our cohesion as a great nation with our own strong identity.
*some schools do still have this but a small % and none I know of have it more than once a week.
It's been reported that Labour's new farming minister fainted 'at the sight of meat' while touring a beef freezer.
I am going to formally invite the minister on a tour of a halal slaughterhouse with me, and other willing MPs, to witness true horror.
He will vomit a kidney.
£95k for an SNP World Cup jolly.
Swinney tried to hide the costs, because he knew exactly how bad this would look.
Business class flights alone, for Swinney, his private secretary and a special adviser came to nearly £28K.
Absolutely scandalous.

Incompetence as the SNP’s default mode of government — a long-running series.
The state-owned Scottish National Investment Bank (founded by N Sturgeon 2020) has so far spent £1.2bn of the £2bn taxpayer’s money allocated to it — and managed to lose £110m, with more losses coming down the pike. Among the list of failures it’s invested in:
Circularity Scotland — went into administration after £8m loss.
Krucial (satellite/digital tech) — went into administration after £4.6 million loss.
M Squared Lasers (photonics/quantum tech) SNIB’s first investment — went into administration with state bank exposed to £34–40m losses (equity + loans).
Trojan Energy (on-street EV charging) — went into administration early this year 2026 with significant portion of Bank’s £26–28 million commitment at risk.
Orbex (rocket/space launch) — went into administration early this year with Bank likely to lose all its £29.3 million exposure.
