You know how there's this metric for videogames called "Time to Crate" where there's always a crate you break to get stuff & how soon you see it in the game is noted?
Romance Fantasy stories should get a "Time to Bath" because there's always a bath or shower to help the segue
their one assigned problem or personal flaw every chapter. The bad guys are irredeemable, the good guys are too good, & I always knew what would happen next. But dammit I read every one because I enjoy seeing nice people get what they want in the end!
Finished reading Alexa Aston's "Second Sons of London" series last night, with book 7, "Meant for the Marquess." Books in this series, along with "Dukes Done Wrong," seem kinda draft-y, with default phrases left in & repetitious inner dialog where the character reminds us of
Curled up on the couch, in a thick hoodie, feet in moccasins, under a fluffy blanket. Mug of warm Ovaltine on the table next to me. Ready for weekend smutty reading to start!
Horde Kings of Dakkar by @zoeydraven wraps up with book six, which really sticks the landing.
I appreciate how there's a shared culture but the kings & women all start from a different perspective of it.
Also taught me enough words in a fake language I could write a love song.
So I've been invited to the kindle rewards beta. Kindle Unlimited subscription cost doesn't earn points. $60 spent gets you $3 off, which is better than nothing but not by much.
If bonus opportunities happen often enough (currently spend $10 get $3) that'll be more worth caring.

Stopping by to mention I'm reading thru Alexa Aston's Recency romance novels. I'm counting them as fantasy because the women with titles often have JOBS, too.
If you like competency porn that also includes adult scenes, give them a try.
Gotta say the characters in the four books in this later series made a hell of a lot more sense after I went back and read the Vawdrey brothers' earlier three book series first. (Start with "Her Baseborn Bridegroom")
So then I read this series again.
I read it, I liked it, I recommend it.
In addition to the main relationship between the two main characters, @FaeOwens17 shows "found family" love.
No idea why the demon on the cover has wings, those are never mentioned in the book? Horns & tattoos are so it's not all random.
🎉Deal with a Demon now live for #free on #KindleUnlimited. A #steamy#demon#paranormalromance#PNR
Thank you to the reviewers who left such lovely feedback.

What isn't there an easy, obvious way to bounce the list of authors I follow on @amazon against the list of authors now publishing on @AmazonKindle Vella?
Like, show me a list of those stories & I'll probably follow each one.

Currently working through the Dark Planet Warriors universe by Anna Carven. Finished the og series, now in the Darkstar Mercenaries spinoffs.
Follows most alien-romance tropes except for Babel-fish. Generally "harder" sci-fi except for the "totally not The Force" in later books.
I swear there's a @joditaylorbooks call back in the second episode of #Loki but B says her books aren't that well known. I said it only takes one writer to slip it in...
A recent read that's been waiting in my Kindle library a while is "The Fever King" by @sosaidvictoria which is near-future magic-as-pandemic with big who-are-the-bad-guys-again? energy plus teenaged angst romance with a Bi lead character.
Recommended, sequel is in my TBR pile.
Today's quick, light read: "Stolen Midsummer Bride" by @GrayceTara & I'm recommending it to librarians, Shakespeare fans, & other book nerds.
Clean & suitable for kids, despite the slightly annoying talking pony. Some anachronistic language slipped in (First Aid?) but who cares?
And of course I read it first, despite it not being the first set in this universe. I would call it a real standalone, I didn't feel like I was missing any context.
But I'm totally reading the previous book next.
Last night (okay, technically this morning) I read "Dragon's Tailor" by @ZoeChantebooks and now I have another prolific author of Fantasy Romance to binge-read.
It's got a modern-day setting, hey-wow-dragon-shifters-exist, & dealing with limitations from having chronic pain.
