@forn2017 I ended up getting into exercising and reading books about my job on my days off. Plus, I got Duolingo and it's helping me remember vocabularly better. I kept on forgetting the words I was using here and it was discouraging.
@forn2017 With your expression, "It was meant to be that way" this means "It was intended to be that way" (それは故意にされた/そのようにである予定だ)
ex) "Don't worry about wrecking it. It's meant to be a single-use object so you can just throw it away later"
@forn2017 for some reason when it's in the negative or past tense it doesn't sound formal at all.
"I didn't mean to kill him" = "I didn't intend to kill him"
"I meant to kill him"="I intended to kill him"
@forn2017 本当のwouldであれば割れるかどうかが言われなかった何か次第です。 It looked like it would break soon (if I kept on using it roughly)

@niji_gutsu Actually after "kind of" you don't have to use "a". It's optional!
I haven't ever danced in front of anyone, and I missed the disco era haha. But my grandmother used to go to dances all of the time. It was good socialization for her 🙂
@kaorijapantokyo Well, you probably know much better songs. Sponge Bob is nostalgic for me so I always think of my good childhood days.
Here's some tunes from the show😆

@niji_gutsu 人が踊るイベントであればただ「dance」と言います。
例えば、Are you and your girlfriend going to the dance at the highschool tonight?
「What kind of a dance is it?」私に聞けば「It's not a formal event so come dressed however you like!」と答えることができます。
@forn2017 Oh that's interesting! Here I don't think many people watch films that aren't in English. People tend to watch the dubbed version over using subtitles I think.
