They have a narrower radius in the downswing than the backswing with the handle more forward of the ball at impact than address as well so the body has to lower to reach the ground.
Looking for thoughts from golf instructors...I've noticed the vast majority of Tour pros/all time greats have their head at a lower level at p4 compared to p1 (some raise their head mid-backswing & then lower it as they go to the top). Nicklaus & Mac OGrady are exceptions.

@LilithAssyria Youth sports, body weight exercises-lifting weights when he’s older and (google)-spine reset exercises. Make his IPad use dependent on how much time he spends doing all of the above 😊
