No, you cannot walk 10,000 steps daily, get 8 hours of sleep, cook every night, clean every day, take care of a family, make time for your own hobbies, and still be productive at work every day. This is not just propaganda, it is nonsense. Free yourself from it.
UAE is in serious trouble.
Israel is now suspecting the direct involvement of certain UAE officials in the attempted hijacking of FlyDubai Flight FZ1073.
Without several deliberate security violations, the hijacking would have been impossible.
To make matters even more suspicious, UAE and Saudi officials still refuse to release the name of the suicidal Omani pilot.
The pilot went through 2 body scanners, a metal detector and an X-ray scanner with a knife.
No alarm went off during the screening.
Another suspicion is that an influential airport official may have already placed the weapon inside the cockpit.
Things get even stranger.
Yesterday, Flight FZ1073 suddenly departed from a different terminal than usual.
It used Terminal 3 instead of Terminal 2.
Security screening is also much tighter at Terminal 3.
So there are questions over how the pilot could have taken a knife onto the aircraft without inside support.
Pilots on the flight are also required to be nationals of countries with diplomatic relations with Israel.
The pilot is from Oman.
And Oman has no diplomatic relations with Israel.
This is another major security breach.
The nationalities of the pilots were initially released as Russian and Ukrainian.
But later that turned out to be false.
The Omani pilot was being protected from the very beginning.
Now the pilot is being escorted to Abu Dhabi in an emergency move by Saudi authorities.
This is happening right after several questions were raised about the UAE.
All FlyDubai flights to Israel have been suspended.
Israel now wants its domestic security service, Shin Bet, to investigate the UAE.
Trump has announced that Iran was behind the hijacking.
He has promised severe retaliation against Iran after the midterms.
Things are getting catastrophic.
Goodles, the mac and cheese brand that Israeli actress Gal Gadot helped bring to life, has been acquired by Barilla Group.
Gadot was a founding investor for Goodles, a nutritional mac and cheese brand, alongside her husband Jaron Varsano.
Now Goodles has been acquired by the largest pasta company in the world, basically ensuring its continued success.
Hours after her passing, the Wikipedia page of Dolly Parton was vandalized, leaving a swastika and "Jew Lover" prominently displayed.
Dolly Parton meant so much to everyone, including me. She was kind, warm, and treated everyone with humanity. For some, treating Jews with that same humanity is a crime.
The edits have since been removed, but to desecrate a page on someone who has just passed is beyond depraved, whether or not you liked her.
I was sitting in a cafรฉ in Tel Aviv today when a stranger walked up and asked if I had a laptop charger, and I absentmindedly reached into my bag and handed it to him.
Easy to forget what a privilege it is to live in a high-trust society where this is totally normal.
Israeli researchers have made another medical breakthrough.
Researchers at Tel Aviv University have developed a blood test that can diagnose lung cancer with over 90% accuracy.
Right now, lung cancer is diagnosed with detailed imaging, physical exams, and tissue samples, usually only after symptoms appear.
The test the Israelis made, which is extremely low cost, finds the diagnosis in a mere 2-3 days with no invasive procedures while the disease is at its most easily treatable (but harder to detect) stage.
An 1842 survey conducted in Rutland indicated that the average life expectancy of agricultural and garden labourers was only 38 years.
For those employed in gardens and on the land, periods of rest were hard earned. The work of the ordinary garden and agricultural labourer was physically arduous, poorly remunerated and often precarious. Long days were spent digging, trenching, planting, weeding, mowing and carrying heavy loads, frequently in cold, wet or otherwise difficult conditions. Employment could also fluctuate with the seasons, leaving labouring families particularly vulnerable during periods when work was scarce.
The consequences of such demanding lives could be severe. An 1842 survey conducted in Rutland indicated that the average life expectancy of agricultural and garden labourers was only 38 years. Although nineteenth-century life-expectancy figures were heavily influenced by high infant and childhood mortality and should therefore be interpreted with care, the statistic nevertheless reflects the considerable hardships experienced by the rural working population. Poor housing, limited diets, exposure to the elements, accidents and restricted access to effective medical treatment all contributed to ill health and premature death.
There was, however, a striking distinction between ordinary labourers and those who rose through the ranks of horticulture to become professional gardeners. Head gardeners and other skilled senior gardeners generally enjoyed greater security, higher wages and improved living conditions. Their expertise could command considerable respect, particularly on large country estates where the head gardener occupied a position of responsibility and status. Such men might supervise sizeable teams of gardeners and labourers while taking charge of valuable glasshouses, kitchen gardens, orchards and extensive ornamental grounds.
Professional gardeners consequently appear to have enjoyed considerably greater longevity than the labouring men working beneath them, with many surviving into their seventies and even eighties. The contrast illustrates the pronounced hierarchy that existed within Victorian gardening: although both occupations involved hard physical work, advancement brought not merely prestige and better remuneration, but greater security and, potentially, a longer and healthier life.
