Brackenhurst Agriculture, Southwell, Nottinghamshire. A beautiful rural campus with a 200ha estate running its own cattle, sheep and arable operations.
Lexie's Story
I started at Brackenhurst in 2015 studying a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture. I had a great time and learnt so much. Upon successfully completing my course @BrackAg I went on to study a degree in Agriculture, graduating in 2020. #Agriculturestudent#FE

Calling all farmers! My dissertation is concerned with how best to drive change and improve #farmsafety in UK agriculture. If you can spare 5 minutes to answer the below survey, it would be hugely appreciated 🦺

Introducing our new Lambing shed! The ewes are in and Lambing will commence very soon. We will keep our social media pages updated with as many lamb pictures as we can #lambing2021#lambs#SpringIsComing#sheep
Practical sessions can still happen, even over video call in lockdown. Well done to the first year agrics. What do you think of these @RSPBEngland#FE#BigGardenBirdWatch
Interested in our FE Level 2 and Level 3 agriculture college courses? We have an online Open day on Saturday 6th February where you will have the opportunity to ask the team questions! Book your place here! https://t.co/H7SzYMjeyK
Still here, still learning and having fun! The Agric's have been completing some work on the @NTU_ARES estate. All important maintenance such as fencing, coppicing and strimming. #countryside#agriculture#farming#FE
The first year @BrackAg have been spending time doing conformation checks on @NTU_ARES ewes which includes e-scanning, weighing and assessing #AHDB#Lambs#FE
Second year Agrics are working on their Farm Business Plan Assignments so it was really useful to hear how John Miller uses Gross Margins and Cashflow Forecasts to help him manage his farm. @AHDB_Cereals @NFUEastMidlands @NFUNotts @woodboroughpark

For farmers, shearing sheep is a vital part of caring for their flock
But many vegans consider the practice cruel and harmful to animals
So, what happened when an anti-wool vegan visited one UK farm?

It's #GCSEResults2019 TODAY! Good luck to everybody who is collecting their grades this morning. Please remember that we are here to help if your grades are not quite what you hoped for. #DontPanic
It's great to see more successful female farmers being celebrated. Here at @BrackAg we're proud of the gender balance on our Agriculture course & equally proud of all our students. @SheepishSophie @farmingatforty @Lou_Oukil https://t.co/0DACXIzZpz
Some of the students planning to study Agriculture with us in September braved the heat for a taster day this week. They're looking like another great bunch so we all have our fingers crossed for the #GCSEs2019
Perhaps they're wrong? There may be such a thing as a #FreeLunch! What's more there's an opportunity to hear the latest thinking on #Blackgrass control and help with the research too! @NFUEastMidlands @BrackAg@GaddPeter@woodboroughpark
