Hafley leaving now sucks. But this may be a better situation for BC now that the coaching carousel is supposedly over. BC being caught in the coaching carousel is not a good thing since it is thought of a low-end P5 — now sub-P2 — program. Your targets aren’t coveted by others.

As a sports fan, I coveted reading Sports Illustrated from childhood.

As a sports journalist I coveted the idea of working there one day.

My favorite covers, however, happened four months apart while I was a sophomore at Boston College.

So happy for my BC boys, but that is obviously not a good result for St. John's. If Pitino has the Red Storm humming later this season (It's Rick Pitino!) this is the kind of result that could make the wrong kind of difference on Selection Sunday.
