@WmWeedon I’m pursuing the second career option at one of the Concordias. SMP was something that was brought up as an option for me. I’d rather do the full seminary experience, learn all I can and build relationships with other future servants.

@HansFiene I watched a video of one of their services where a woman worship leader sang the words of institution, there was no blessing of the elements. I don’t understand why they want to be in the LCMS if they disagree with the us on everything.

@Jakethecrazy19 @becomelutheran I plan on visiting. President Egger was my Pastor when I first considered the ministry and was a mentor for me, so having that connection at St Louis is appealing. But I have heard nothing but good things about Fort Wayne as well.

@shebringsjoy I agree. I have served as a lay delegate for both our district convention and for the local Lutheran camp voters meeting. Neither was extremely fun, but I was happy to serve in that capacity.

@LutheranPrince Not to say that purity is bad, but purity culture comes with a different set of issues where, if one fails, they aren’t told that it is a sin Christ has died for and has forgiven. We must always maintain a Theology of the Cross.

If you reduce worship to a concert and a Ted Talk, you can find better versions of both in the secular world. The Liturgy offers what you can’t get anywhere else, forgiveness and the word and sacraments.
