A well written discharge letter is probably (IMO) the most useful piece of documentation found when attending a call in the ambulance. Provides good insight into the patient’s background and clinical course during their recent admission. Will always look for and read if available
Over a decade of friendship & back together 📸. From putting plasters on heels @ festivals as teens to looking after our city together on rapid response cars @Scotambservice. Grateful to have these two exceptional Paramedics by my side. 🖤

The quality of care provided by Ambulances services (health services in general) should be judged based on how tightly the distribution of safe and reasonable care is amongst their clinical workforce.

This is exactly it. I get so frustrated with people who think just throwing an igel into soiled airways works. It doesn’t. “Igel and get them to hospital quickly” - clearly never had to deal with an active arrest with soiled airway and a carry down 3 flights of stairs. 1/
@simontutt88 When teating exacerbations - in the absence of reduced sats - ask/look for/consider the use of the patients own air driven nebuliser rather than jumping to an O2 driven neb. Overlooked all too often...
This was described by a very experienced participant as “the mother of all exercises”! It was certainly intense with lots of learning. Huge thanks to @krcircuit for hosting and @SAMSCtweets@WeAreSMMC for organising. #ThanksMarshal
@JoeHunter1991 @EmmaHardyMP @CareQualityComm@DVLAgovuk Section 19 coming into affect will hopefully help with the latter part in some way. I may draft a similar letter to this for my MP 👍 the lack if regulation is scary when peoples lives can literally be on the line!
@wmasjoshmiller @Afox_101 'Make ready' has still to catch on up here. Big picture is that we need the service to adopt a standardised layout - currently each station seems to do their own thing, so zero consistency across the board.
