In 2008, Marilyn Bergeron confided in her friends and family, hinting that something terrible had occurred but refusing to disclose details. When questioned about possible assault or witnessing a crime, she responded with 'no, something worse.'

On the morning of February 17, 2008, Marilyn Bergeron left her family's home in Quebec City, Canada, claiming she was going for a walk. She never returned. An ATM recorded her attempting to withdraw money later that afternoon. The last confirmed sighting occurred almost five hours after she left home at a coffee shop in Saint-Romuald.

Since her disappearance, there have been various reported sightings, especially in areas bordering Quebec in Ontario. However, none of these sightings have been verified.
