Whitman-Hanson football (1-0) defeated Pembroke 20-6 in their season opener.

Offensively, Brady Markowski led the offense with 212 yards rushing on 16 carries and 2 touchdowns. Austin Breheny connected with Niloy Lopes for a score as well.

On defense, DeVaughn Marshall led the Panthers with 7 tackles. Matt Lee had 2 sacks, a tackle for loss, and a fumble recovery. Curtis Burke added another sack and Bobby Walker also recovered a fumble.

The Panthers host Scituate next Friday.
