My Grandpa, Tom Caflisch coached as a Special Teams Coach for 21 years @UWRFFootball.

Many years ago, he told me about this new coach coming to town, @CoachWalkerRF was the new head coach, he said “He’s the guy that’s gonna turn around River Falls Football.”

He echoed it year after year when I’d visit because he saw what was happening daily.

When I got into college coaching as a GA at MSU, he set up a meeting with Coach Walker, “You have to meet this guy.” We sat down for Lunch on a weekday at Bo’s and Mine and talked ball for an hour and a half about the Crush front and Pop passes, along with other things. After, Grandpa C goes I have no idea what you guys were talking about but that was awesome. 🤣😂

Fast Forward to my grandpa getting sick. Not only did Coach visit him, he sent Freddy the Falcon (The Mascot) to see him.

When he passed Coach and his staff came to his funeral, and remembered him with a moment of silence pre-game.

So you wanna know why UW-RF is where they are? It’s because of the people and it starts at the top.
