@SarahH17096151 @chrisbuttimer We are in Texas. We are not really allowed to do much to protect students at this time. Iโm hoping things change, but as of now, our governor has said that mask mandates are illegal. We cannot require quarantine for close contacts. We cannot require vaccination or testing.
I just ran into one of the security guards in my building. I asked if she was evacuating. She said: โOn my salary, either I can evacuate. Or I can pay my rent on the first. I canโt do both.โ I wish more people understood that not everyone has the privilege to evacuate. #Ida
Thanks for standing up for children, even in the face of opposition. Thank you for protecting our community, children, and staff. Leadership requires integrity and bravery from time to time. Thanks for leading the way. โค๏ธ
Thank you for protecting our community and for caring for children and staff. Care is an honorable value. Itโs nice to see districts talk the talk and walk the walk. โค๏ธ
The next hearing is Sept. 3. Fort Worth ISD's mask requirement could be in place Tuesday, Sept. 7, if the court rules in the district's favor

A Black high schooler reported hearing a white classmate use the n-word. The principal called both down to the office. Then ... the girl hit record. Here's an exclusive preview of our new podcast, "Southlake," that aired today on @MSNBC. First two episodes out Monday. @ahylton26
Remember, if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.
Every student may not behave great at school today but remember there is greatness in every kid. See their missteps as opportunities for learning and personal self-growth, for both them... and us.
