Rhythms don't just shape our interaction with architecture; they redefine our understanding of the environment in experimental studies. This is not a conclusion, but a dawn. We stand on the edge of discovery, ready to unveil the rhythmic secrets that afford our existence. (6/6)
🚨NEW PAPER🚨
"On natural attunement: Shared rhythms between the brain and the environment"
Our new (open access) paper, in collab with the fantastic Efrosini Charalambous, reviews the rhythmic relationship between brains and buildings.

#AHRA2023 We will start TODAY! “Situated Ecologies of Care,” @ahra2023, 20th AHRA International Conference, 25-27 October 2023, @arch_port. If you tweet from the conference please use #AHRA2023. We want to know about your experience! For our programme see: https://t.co/1XCTyHi8j4
*Naturalistic paradigms: Rich behaviors and environmental features*
My short commentary on Maselli et al.'s latest paper "Beyond simple laboratory studies." Many emphasize naturalistic experiments, so I briefly remind us all of 'environmental features'.

🚨Into naturalistic paradigms and neuroimaging?
The 5th International MoBi Conference will take place in beautiful Piran, Slovenia, June 2-5 2024!
There will be data analysis workshops and various mobile body and neuroimaging presentations!

On Natural Attunement: Shared Rhythms Between the Brain and the Environment
"visual rhythmic stimulations of the environment to couple with and affect the brain and body through neural entrainment, cross-frequency coupling, and phase resetting"

1/9 *Paper Thread*
How do/can discrete computational models account for the continuity of human experience?
@jdbogotaj and I assess the temporality of active inference. We introduce Markov blankets of time, double notation of time, and more. OA link in the final post!
New batch. Did I do alright?
Trying to understand time and dynamics between body, brain and environment from empirical and computational perspectives. Any other recommendations?
*New publication*
Finally, the book sees the light of day! The book "Affordances in Everyday Life: A Multidisciplinary Collection of Essays" contains essays from excellent researchers, introducing affordances in super a super accessible way.

As we must engineer with the human's #psychology in mind we also might need to start thinking even bigger. This review highlights how important our surroundings are in shaping how we think and act (i.e. regarding attentional mechanisms). Are we ready to take onto this challenge?
New paper w/ @OleBJensen3, @neuroparada and @KlausGramann out now in Neurosci. & Biobehav. Rev.!
"Architecture and Neuroscience: Modulating behavior through sensorimotor responses to the built environment" where we also cover Mobile Brain/Body Imaging!
Why are things around us designed the way they are?
Research led by @ZakDjebbara and his team explores the impact of architectural differences in our surroundings on our well-being and #mentalhealth. Read more in our showcase: https://t.co/utETCVZSbB
