REPORT: Jets owner Woody Johnson announces that the team is “seriously considering” a rebrand with the primary goal of moving to Long Island.
Johnson believes a new stadium can be built in Long Island by 2029 as they try to branch away from the Giants and embrace a full rebrand.
The #Giants and GM Joe Schoen have agreed to terms on a multi-year extension to keep him working with John Harbaugh for years to come, per me and @MikeGarafolo.
After a successful offseason, including the work during the NFL Draft, Schoen is rewarded with a new deal.
The holdup on Odell is pretty simple. They have to be sure they both want to do this weighing all the factors: I have no doubt Odell wants to be a Giant. I think Harbaugh would like to coach him and thinks he can bring something to this team and the WR group.
But, in some ways, it's like why some Yankees fans don't want Don Mattingly to ever manage the Yankees. Because one day, he'll be fired. And no one wants to see Donnie Baseball fired.
With OBJ, he's incredibly popular with a lot of Giants fans. Harbaugh and team brass don't want this to be for show or for nostalgia. Neither does Odell.
If you bring OBJ back and he comes back, you want the storybook ending. He contributes. Helps Dart. Stays healthy. Closes the circle on his career and goes out a Giant.
Can they find a way to maximize their chances of making that happen for both sides?
"I want people to remember the Giants won. And then I want them to remember, 'damn, Arvell was one of those reasons.'"
Arvell Reese joins @Connor_J_Hughes to answer what he hopes his career will be defined by
I know he's not the same player he was during his first stint, but I'm all about the Giants signing OBJ. He will still be a reliable target for Dart and would add solid depth.
I was saving this one for the start of the season. Like the rest of @Giants season tix holders, I won't be in the stands tonite. But whether you were in the stands or watching at home, Pat Summerall was clear on who the best fans in the NFL were. #Gameday#GoGiants#TogetherBlue
