The Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre at IIT Madras marks an important step in advancing cutting-edge research and innovation in healthcare related subjects.

Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi’s visit to @iitmadras and the dedication of the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre to the nation underscore India’s growing leadership in advanced scientific research.

The Centre’s mission to create cell-resolution 3D atlases of over 100 human brains across the lifespan, together with the release of C-STROKE the world’s first human ischemic stroke atlas, is a significant contribution to global neuroscience and neuromedicine.

By combining high-throughput imaging, computing and multidisciplinary expertise, these open resources will support deeper insights into brain structure, disease mechanisms and future therapies.

A commendable step by @iitmadras and @BraincentreIITM, enabled by visionary support, toward strengthening India’s role in healthcare innovation.

A historic milestone for the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre!
📷We are profoundly honored that Hon’ble PM @narendramodi, CM @JosephVijay, and Governor @RajendraVishwanathArlekar toured the Centre for a live demonstration of 3D Human Brain Mapping and officially dedicated the Centre to the Nation. 📷

With this dedication, the Centre launched its ambitious mission: the 3D Mapping of over 100 human brains across the human lifespan.

Furthermore, the Centre released #CSTROKE, the World’s first 3D Atlas of a Stroke Brain, generously funded by Prem Watsa. 📷
