Every political party includes large employment promises in its manifesto, but only a handful are able to translate those commitments into actual recruitment numbers, let alone exceed them.

UP is now set to touch the record figure of 10 lakh govt jobs with the upcoming recruitment for around 1.5 lakh posts. A lot of families in small towns and villages know what even one govt job means for a household.

Over the past nine years, the Yogi govt has already facilitated employment for around 9 lakh young people in the public sector. The upcoming hiring drive will further strengthen recruitment across key departments such as the police, education, health, and revenue administration.

For aspirants, this could be one of the biggest opportunities in years. Instead of wasting time endlessly scrolling through social media, focusing on preparation right now may actually put a govt job letter in hand before the election season peaks.

People still speak about UP using old stereotypes, but NCRB and PSI data tell a very different story now.

For a state of nearly 24 crore people, maintaining a crime rate of 296.6, far lower than Kerala (1389), Telangana (1055), Tamil Nadu (655), or Karnataka (522), is not a small administrative achievement.

The biggest shift is probably in conviction and enforcement. UP now leads the country with a 76.6% conviction rate in crimes against women, while many “progressive” states still see the overwhelming majority of accused walking free. Kanpur and Lucknow are also filing chargesheets faster than cities like Bengaluru and even Delhi in such cases.

At the ground level too, things people actually notice in daily life matter. Lower rates of harassment in public spaces, lower murder rates than several major states, tighter control on fraud, better prison management, these are not ideological debates, but governance outcomes.

Criticising any govt is fair and necessary. But ignoring measurable improvements simply because they do not fit old political narratives is intellectual dishonesty.
