Last year, we lost one of our longstanding Patrons Anneliese Emmans-Dean to cancer. Anneliese was a writer, performance poet and a stalwart supporter of St Nicks. On 23 February we unveiled two colourful benches in her honour and renamed our Meadow “The Big Buzz Meadow."

The dentition of long-extinct animals shows that they were specialised to a particular main preferred diet. Brown bears may be omnivorous, but are not generalist.

Without knowing the exact size, they look like the eggs of a Red Knot, Dunlin or Sandpiper. But the paintings in my old 'Observer's Book of Birds' Eggs' are not that accurate I think.
